So has anyone else had the problem of seeing this:

a sentence about your site

and having traumatic flashbacks to Sin City? At the bookstore, I constantly pass by the Everything's Illuminated cardboard display and then run off screaming, convinced that Elijah Wood is about to open his ginormous eyes and size me up for a nice meal. Eeek!

Also, I discovered this weekend that Paul Anka has just released an album entitled Rock Swings in which he takes rock songs and converts them into swing songs. Let me tell you, you haven't lived until you've heard Smells Like TeenSpirit converted into boppy swing song. His other choices range from insane to inspired, I mean Eye of the Tiger, Paul? The Hell? His version of Wonderwall though, IMO, sounds much better than the original.

Yay, I've intrigued you! Sadly my computer is pushing up daisies right now, but as soon as I can find a way, I'll try to get a copy to you.

Speaking of cover versions of "Wonderwall," The Mike Flowers Pops Orchestra did a lounge-y one in the nineties that kicks some serious ass. Paul Anka's version, though I've only heard the clip on Amazon, cannot possibly hope to compete with it.

PS YOU ARE TOTALLY RIGHT ABOUT MR WOOD

You have the coolest musical knowledge known to man! I've never heard of Mike Flowers but now I will have to track him and his CDs down.

cannibals have feelings too...

so the last time i was at the b&n, i bought the book, but i made sure that i bought the original paperback, sans Elijah Wood's inherent creepiness. i found myself quite afraid of the cardboard display...definitely burn it once it comes down...

Re: cannibals have feelings too...

well to be safe, I think I'll drive stakes through his eyes and then burn it :-). What do you think of the book? It's one of those I have on my most definitely-want-to-read list, but I continue to be distracted by shiny and new books.

Re: cannibals have feelings too...

good idea - you can never be too careful when it comes to things of that nature. I like the book a lot and i am really interested in the movie and how it will reflect the book. i can let you borrow it whenever i finish it.
